Today, Democratic Committee leaders in both the House and Senate sent a letter to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Sylvia Burwell urging the agency to finalize a regulation proposed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) nearly five years ago that would better enforce Medicaid’s equal access provision.  This will ensure that care and services are available to Medicaid enrollees and that providers are paid a fair Medicaid reimbursement rate.
